In fact, they are so similar, that NotificationCenter has a method named publisher(for:object:) that provides a Publisher type that can publish notifications. With NotificationCenter you express interest in certain events and then you’re notified asynchronously whenever a new event comes through. The idea of subscribing a publisher is similar to subscribing for a specific notification from NotificationCenter. In other words, a publisher publishes or emits events that can include values of interest. This protocol defines the requirements for a type to be able to transmit a sequence of values over time to one or more subscribers. Hello PublisherĪt the heart of Combine is the Publisher protocol. They form the foundation of Combine and enable you to send and receive data, typically asynchronously. However, before you begin playing with those examples, you first need to look at publishers, subscribers and subscriptions in a bit more detail. The e-book software can save you a lot of time. Showed up right at 9am to my Walgreens this morning, walked out a few minutes ago with photos. This is brilliant, thank you! I ended up doing this and it worked great. Our passports arrived yesterday and took 33 days from start to finish. On a related note, the State Department tells you that the processing time for renewals is 10-12 weeks. I did not want to run the risk of the application being denied due to a photo that was off. I happily paid the $15 charge at Walgreens, knowing that the photo met the standards of the State Department. My wife and I just renewed our passports. Given that we only renew passports every ten years, and that the cost (non-refundable) of the renewal itself is $110 per person plus shipping, I didn't mind the $15 per person bite to avoid a chance that photos that I produced might be rejected and I would have to try again. The issuing authorities are pretty picky about the specs of the photos, and the CVS guys advertised that their setup produced pics that met all the requirements. We just renewed our passports, and we got our photos done at a local CVS that offered passport photos. If you do elect to go a cheaper / non-professional passport photo route, be sure to lookout for things that may cause the photo to be rejected Have done this several times for myself and my family. Either way, now is the time to fill in exactly what you plan to eat for each meal. Some people are happy to eat the same meals day in and day out, while others prefer to mix things up. Now that you know how many Points you’re going to allot for each meal, it’s time to decide how to spend them. Whether that’s a glass of wine with dinner or a slice of birthday cake, using your weekly Points to plan for events makes it easier to work them into your Budget and less likely that you’ll be unprepared. Do they include date night, happy hour, or Sunday brunch? The beauty of your Points Budget is that it allows you the flexibility to spend your Points the way you want. It also helps to think about your plans for the coming week. You can use ZeroPoint foods to fill in any gaps. You might want to use three Points for breakfast, another seven for lunch, three for an afternoon snack, and 10 for dinner. To make sure you’re eating the optimal amount of food at the right time, divvy up your daily Points among meals and snacks. Regular meals and snacks throughout the day reduce the risk for getting overly hungry. Or download the worksheet at the end of this article. We were particularly impressed by the free, unlimited access to an extensive, royalty-free library of content from Shutterstock. There's also 360-degree video editing, together with support for all the file standards and formats you can imagine. There are a lot of intuitive controls that speed up the process, too, including automatic gap filling and an overlay channel that sits beneath the primary video on the timeline. When we reviewed it, we found it to be one of the most simple, well-designed, and attractive video editing interfaces we've used to date. While beginners might still be freaked out by the apparent complexity of the interface (in which case, we'd recommend Premiere Elements, below), those who've used any type of video editing tool before will find it pretty easy to pick up and run with. We rate CyberLink PowerDirector 365 as the best video editing software for non-pros who have some experience of editing video. In which case, you'd be better off with a cheaper, simpler, middleweight video editor. If you're not working as a professional video editor but do a lot of editing (as a YouTuber, for example, or in the course of your marketing or graphic design job) Premiere Pro may be overkill. The best mid-level video editing software See our full Davinci Resolve Studio review for more on our experience with the software. If you're looking for a full-feature package that can do it all for a one-off price, DaVinci Resolve is our recommendation. "It comes with all the industry-leading colour grading tools but includes some next-gen tools such as auto-subtitling and transcribing tools." Its interface can take a bit of getting used to, but shouldn't be too much of a problem if you're used to video editing. "I love this version of Resolve," said our reviewer. And most of all, we love that you can everything you need to in video editing within a single app, without the need to open and manage various different apps to achieve the best results. We also love its new Relight tool, which analyses your images and creates associated normal maps. We find its colour-grading options truly excel, but so does its smart video-stabilisation tool, and its built-in audio mixing abilities are powerful and capable. It's colour grading where Davinci began before expanding into a fully fledged video editor. The paid version offers better performance for bigger projects (it can use multiple GPUs) and a lot of extra tools, including Magic Mask and depth maps for colour grading. There is no doubt that BlackMagic's DaVinci Resolve Studio is a great video editing package, and the free version, called simply Davinci Resolve, is our top pick of the best free video editing software out there. Like all Creative Cloud software, Premiere Pro is constantly updated, and subscribers get all updates for free. You can work on an unlimited number of video tracks (we fired up four 4K videos in our testing), which can be imported from pretty much any source. Point to where the crosshair is and do a running jump throw with left-click. There are a lot of different things and plays you can do with this wall. You can also progress to top mid, and unless the enemies play very aggressively and push the toxin screen you can just win map control for free. You can push either side of the pillar safely since the enemies won't be able to see you. This wall allows you to get a lot of control on Mid. You can be playing on the back o the B bombsite and still help your team on two different areas of the map with this wall. It also covers a part of tube making it easier for the player that is defending that area. It makes it way harder to gain mid-control since the enemies are forced to pass the toxin wall and will be vulnerable. This wall blocks the attacker's vision to upper mid. Making it easier for the defenders to retake control of the bomb site. This wall blocks the vision from the B lobby and forces the attackers to either give control of the plant area or play aggressively, pushing through the wall or playing ahead of it. Used when you want to play retake, and will play in a more defensive way. This wall is very common in competitive games and is the most used wall when it comes to executing into the B Bombsite. This way you just have to worry about the players in the plant area, since your wall covers the other two entries to the bombsite. It blocks the vision from the defenders coming from CT or B tube. Viper Walls and Smokes on Breeze B Bombsite It also blocks the vision of the right side of the mid pillar for the attackers. It blocks the enemy's vision of the bombsite and forces them to pass the wall and get vulnerable in order to get to the plant zone. It completely blocks the enemy's vision and also makes them vulnerable if they decide to push through the smoke. This is a great one-way smoke that allows you to see the enemies first when they enter through double doors. Point to where the crosshair is and jump throw with right-click. It also makes them vulnerable if they stay inside the smoke. This smoke prevents that from happening, completely blocking the vision of the player or players that might be playing there. If the enemies are on top of the container they will be able to watch over your wall. Point to where the crosshair is and do a jump throw left-click. It's the best wall you can use on the A bombsite since it allows you to enter the site in an easy and safe way. It blocks the vision from the enemies that are playing back site and forces them to either give up control of the plant area or play aggressively. This is the most commonly used wall to execute into the A bombsite. Viper Walls and Smokes on Breeze A Bombsite Without further ado, let's see what are the best Viper Walls and Smokes on Breeze. All this builds a mix of beatdown strategies, control mechanics and negation effects create a deck with a lot of punch but little stamina for longer games. Aside from the tag-out effect they work with Fusion monsters that can be summoned via Contact Fusion and therefore do not need any Fusion Spell to be summoned. This mechanic seems to be commonly known as tag-out, which is the phrase I will use for this mechnic throughout the entire article. “Gladiator Beast” is an archetype that consists of various Types and Attributes but is tied together by the common motiv of battle focus in fact, they do have their own unique mechanic, which switches a monster that attacked or was attacked at the end of the Battle Phase against another monster from the deck. Furthermore, I use a number of sources for ideas and information, so a list with links that I deem useful is attached to the end of the page and credit is given whenever I can point to a source to do so. I will try to keep this page (as well as the other ones, once they are made) up-to-date, so if any reader feels like I skipped some amazing tech choice or a crucial card, just drop me a note and I will add the missing information if necessary. There are probably choices that I list which can be labled as debatable, but no platform I know of gives a broad overview over both the archetypes and all the card choices, so I aimed to do just that. Having an open mind in deck building and including creative ideas is always helpful, if only to further understand the playstyle and strategy of the deck you are about to build. Well, this changes now apparently since I will do the usual analysis for the “Gladiator Beast” archetype in this very article.ĭisclaimer: None of the information given by me is set in stone. I faintly remember them from back in the day when they part of the top-cut of decks at tournaments and when “ Test Tiger” was stupidly expensive, but I honestly did not know what any of them did because at that time I was fully occupied with Magic the Gathering and could not care less about anthropomorphed animals fighting in arenas. This time we are talking about “Gladiator Beasts”. Welcome to part two of the second round of “I asked my friends what archetypes I should review”. “Gladiator Beast Tamer Editor” will soon become your most played monster, trust me. Tools: use selection, transformation and distortion tools.Timeline: create keyframes and edit timing of animations.Scripting: use the Python programming language to extend Synfig.Plugins: use third-party plugins to extend Synfig's capabilities.Onion Skinning: view multiple frames simultaneously to help with animation.Layers: combine and arrange multiple layers of vector objects.Gradients: create color gradients for backgrounds and objects.Gradient Editor: customize and manipulate gradient colors and shapes.Filters: apply effects such as blur, glow and bevel.Export: save animations as high-quality video, or static images.Controllers: apply multiple controllers to animate complex objects.Brush Tool: draw vector shapes with freehand brush tools.Animation: create complex animations with tweening and morphing. This allows you to produce 2D animation with fewer people while producing a product of a higher quality. Our animation technology eliminates the task of manual tweening, producing smooth, fluid motion without the animator having to draw out each frame individually. This laborious task is called "tweening". Even with today's digital inking and painting software, the process still relies on individuals hand-drawing each frame. While there are many other programs currently on the market to aid with the efficient production of 2D animation, we are currently unaware of any other software that can do what our software can.ĢD Animation has traditionally been very expensive because every frame must be drawn by hand. Synfig Studio is a 2D animation application that enables you to produce film-quality animations using bitmaps. When I do, expect to see a detailed review.Free bitmap animation software with tweening and fluid motion I do hope to learn this software in the future. It could take your animations from looking obviously amateur to very professional looking indeed. If you want to graduate from using MS Paint and Windows Movie Maker (which seems to be a popular combination for many beginner animators) Synfig is definitely a giant leap forward. However, if you have a graphics tablet, Synfig will support it, including pressure sensitivity. From what I've read it doesn't support true flash exports (so you won't be using this to make props for your GoAnimations). You will need to export your animations into video editing software to add audio etc. One thing to note is that Synfig is not intended as a complete animation studio. Synfig is both Vector and Bitmap based and from the it's 2012 demo reel embeded below, I'd say, looks to have amazing potential. It's just going to take quite some time and quite a few tutorials to get myself up to speed to the point where I could do a proper review.įor now I just wanted to make you aware that this software is out there for free - for all you would be animators dreaming of the day you can afford something like Adobe Flash (CS5) or ToonBoom Animation Studio - this looks like a good alternative if you're really serious about 2D animation. Which is not the same as being hard to learn. The reason being, I fire this software up and it just looks like hard work to learn. So, even though I've just installed the latest version, don't expect a review. I've had previous versions of Synfig installed on my computer for some time and, I'm going to confess, I've never used it. There are versions available for Mac, Windows and Linux. However the program keeps getting updated with release 0.63.05 being made available on the 9th April 2012. It has been around for quite some time now and seems to have had a fairly checkered history in terms of development, as noted in TildeHash's blog last year, Potential for Free Animation Software dead? Not overly surprising for free, open source software. Synfig Studio is intended to be professional 2D animation software and is available to download for free. When I asked Michael to share some of his suggested titles with me, I was pleasantly surprised by the sheer variety, but shocked that this self-professed book lover hadn’t heard of them before.Īs a woman, I know I can often be persuaded by the ‘classic choices’ with girlish themes, and as much as it is good to cover the old favourites, one can be too tempted to fill bookshelves with stories everyone is familiar with. Lucky for us, Michael has agreed to share ten not-oft thought of books that make a great starting point for your own library. Not one to let that stop him sever his passion and suspend his work with the book trade, Gibbs now provides a Bespoke Library Service whereby private clients can hire him to curate beautifully tailored libraries based on your personal tastes and reading preferences. Sadly this romantic ideal hasn’t been widely adopted by a younger generation of readers, and due to the rising popularity of Kindles, ebooks and online retail, Bolingbroke was recently forced to close. Independent stores like his are the stuff of Britain, iconic places that make a landscape more about community and integrity than economic monopoly. It was something out of one of those ‘London made charming’ romantic comedies. Former proprietor of The Bolingbroke Bookshop, Michael sold books in his charming Battersea cornerstore for over thirty years. There is no man who echoes this sentiment more than my friend Michael Gibbs. Lest we lose the joy of the paperback, not only should we bestow a love of real books on the younger generation, we must do all we can to preserve the industry and keep words in print by making the joy of owning and reading physical books an important part of our home life! My Morfar especially, insists on buying everyone a book for Christmas, he’s done this for as long as I can remember, and is something I have embraced when shopping for children’s birthday gifts ( this book helps with inspiration if you’d like to adopt the same idea). Adorning every wall is a living, breathing, wallpaper of glorious fiction and informative reading, ready and willing to cure all boredom, or answer any burning question. My Grandparents are bookworms, and though settled in a modest 1930’s semi on the outskirts of London, nothing akin to a palatial country house, it has nevertheless always been filled to the rafters with books. Not only does the humble book serve as an education, and respite from the world, but if you buy one right, it can be a most decorative and loved backdrop to the best ‘home’ memories. In the age of the Kindle and fast-paced living, never before has it been so imperative to fill ones home with the joy of books to balance the mind. Having admired many a quintessentially English house, both in person and in picture, I have come to notice that one is never truly complete unless it has an extensive and much loved library. |
